HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)
Html is the heart and soul of web content. While Xml and Xsl
and other meta technologies are making some headway they still
lack the tools support, cross browser compatibility that Html
enjoys today. I offer the following as "proof in the
pudding". The next ten different sites you surf to, right
click on the page and view the source. If you are lucky you may
find one out of ten in xml, though I highly doubt it. The popular
O'Reilly website http://www.xml.com
is done in HTML :-). In fact, most of the websites that offer
resources on xml for the web are written using html.
Html (Hyper Text Markup Language) is a flexible and mature
language that allows you to host web content. As Marshall Mcluhan
was famous for saying, "The message is the medium". Html
is nothing more than the tool that you use to convey your message.
If you have a message no one cares to hear, or a poorly stated
message you are not likely to get an audience any more
that in the good 'ol days before the web.
